Andrea Costanzo Martini – PayPer Play

Andrea Costanzo Martini
PayPer Play

PayPer Play is a dance piece for children and the whole family that light-heartedly reflects on the pain of friendship, loneliness, and the need for human connection. Set in a stunning set made entirely of cardboard, the piece tells the story of a lonely character secluded from the outside world,  living in a room made out of carton boxes. His only connection to reality: a tv screen and a crazy salesman. To fill the inner void he seeks escape from solitude through compulsive online shopping. However, one wrong order sets in motion a chain of events that gets out of his control.

Andrea Costanzo Martini is an Italian Choreographer based in Israel. After a formal education in classical ballet he came to  contemporary dance, bringing together elements of both worlds in his own style. Since 2013 he has created and performed his work in Israel and abroad. Andrea’s artistic research focuses on the extreme physicality and theatricality of performance and explores the balance of power between dancers and spectators. Always filled with humour, his work plays with the expectations of the dance medium.
