Master Class with the Trisha Brown Dance Company
Taught by Kimberly Fulmer from the Trisha Brown Dance Company, this technique class offers an opportunity to work in-depth on body alignment and fundamentals that are integral to exploring the detail and rigor of Trisha Brown’s movement style. With an emphasis on finding easeful and dynamic ways of moving, students will learn phrases of movement from the Company’s repertory.
Beginning with a warm-up to integrate the breath and full dimension of the body, movement exercises will focus on undoing places of tension and holding. Mapping the joints of the body will be emphasized to enable clear and efficient movement. The class will develop into learning a phrase of movement that encompasses quick qualitative shifts and complex points of initiation.
