‘BLACK’ (performance 30 minutes)

‘Black’ proposes a reflection on violence and emancipation of blackness in the contemporary world through a body that narrates, challenges and bothers, a body that is both wounded and celebrated. Using a stage design devoid of artifice and overflowing with symbolism.

Oulouy the creator, choreographer and performer of the piece – takes as reference episodes from recent history, such as the #blacklivesmatter movement or the assassination of George Floyd, to rethink the black African body in the Western world with a choreographic repertoire that is inspired by key styles of the great cities in the African continent, such as coupé-décalé, azonto or ndomboló.

Direction, choreography and performance: Oulouy

Production and distribution: Africa Moment www.africamoment.org

Produced in Barcelona (Spain) in 2020
